Telangana government's 'Employees Health Scheme' exists only on paper
The scheme has no mention of diseases to be treated
Adilabad: The much-touted Employees Health Scheme, introduced by the Telangana state government recently, has disllusioned the staff what with no corporate hospital being included in the list of empanelled hospitals implementing it.
Further, employees sayd there is no clarity with regard to the type of diseases that would be provided treatment under the scheme.
The state government issued GO No. 32 on the cashless medical treatment scheme stating that it would be implemented from November 1.
But later, the government issued orders to continue with the earlier medical reimbursement scheme till November 30, after employees expressed displeasure over the newly-introduced scheme.
According to sources, nearly 1.5 lakh state government employees are yet to up load their details for availing the benefits of the new health scheme.
Teachers working in aided and model schools have not been covered under the new scheme though the existing ceiling of Rs 2 lakh on medical reimbursement was lifted by the government.
Telangana Prantha Upadhyaya Sangham (TPUS) district president Bandi Ramesh said the health scheme is of no use to 95 per cent of the employees as it does not include treatment for kidney, lungs and cardiac ailments. He wanted the government to include all diseases.
