YSR Congress demands ‘thorough’ probe into AP CM Chandrababu Naidu's foreign trips
‘Naidu has not brought a single multi-crore project to the state’
Hyderabad: Opposition YSR Congress Party on Tuesday demanded a thorough probe into Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's foreign trips here.
"The purpose, programme and result of his trips should be probed, as he has been on many such visits to further his business interests ignoring people's issues. At a time when drought conditions prevail in AP and Cyclone Hudhud affected people are left in the lurch, the CM foes on foreign trips spending huge amounts of public money, only to further his coterie's business interests," YSRCP MLA G Sreekanth Reddy told reporters.
A government order was issued sanctioning Rs 1.5 crore as advance for his Japan trip and his entourage has been busy improving its business relations, Reddy alleged.
"Going by past experience of his nine-year tenure (when Naidu was AP CM), Chandrababu Naidu has not brought a single multi-crore project to the state. On the contrary, he (Naidu) has business interests in 'Far Eastern' nations and his frequent visits should be brought under a competent scanner," Reddy alleged.
"While his foreign jaunts prove to be personal, he has been creating a hype with the help of his friendly media that much is happening on the development front," he said.
The state should be categorical as to how much investment was brought to the state and what is the amount spent on trips abroad, he said.
Recently, Naidu visited Singapore and is currently in Japan.
