Chennai: The power generation from 1,000 MW Unit 1 of Kudankulam nuclear power plant will commence once again by end of this month or first week of December, said Atomic Energy Commission chairman Dr Ratan Kumar Sinha. “Power generation has been suspended in the nuclear reactor following a technical snag. Though technical glitch is a common one, it has been made out into a big issue,” he told reporters at Chennai airport on Tuesday evening after visiting Madras Atomic Power Station at Kalpakkam.

He said that second unit will commence power generation very soon. He said only atomic power stations would help the country meet its growing energy needs. He asked the people not  to be apprehensive about the nuclear power plants and they should keep faith on atomic power stations.
