Saveetha School of Law celebrates Law Day

The day was celebrated to mark the anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution

Lifetime achiever award being given to eminent legal luminaries at MM Convention Centre, Saveetha University
Chennai: To mark the anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution, National Law Day was celebrated by the School of Law, Saveetha University. Lifetime achiever awards were given to eminent legal luminaries on Wednesday at MM Convention Centre, Saveetha University. The chief guest was Justice N.M. Venkatachala Moorthy, former Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court. 
 
The life-time awardees, V. K. Muthusamy, R. Muthukumaraswamy, senior advocate, Justice S.K. Krishnan., R. Veeramani, chairman, granite natural stones and products panel of CAPEXIL and D. Selvam were felicitated by the university Chancellor.
The Chancellor was felicitated by the vice-chancellor of Saveetha University, Dr. Mythili Bhaskaran. Dr Omana George, the Principal, Saveetha School of Law welcomed the gathering.
 
Justice N.M. Venkatachala Moorthy highlighted the significance of the Law Day Celebrations citing the principle of res judicata (finality of judgment) that has been applied to petitions filed under Article 32 of the Constitution of India, which was considered the soul of the Constitution by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The Supreme Court of India and High Courts could interpret the statutes thanks to Article 32, he said.
