KSRTC disputes state’s stand
The revival package accepted by the government should be implemented
Kochi: The KSRTC on Thursday refuted the statement filed by the state and countered that the government cannot run away from supporting the corporation.
The KSRTC further submitted that the implementation of the revival package chalked out by it to overcome the pension liability and the loan dues was the only method which could be adopted to resolve the financial crisis.
Justice Dama Seshadri Naidu concluded the arguments and reserved the petitions for orders. The corporation pointed out that the revival package accepted by the government should be implemented.
Since KSRTC was functioning under the instruction of the government, all matters including appointment, promotion and grant of pension was under the control and direction of the government, it submitted.
The state government had on Wednesday filed an affidavit stating that it cannot provide financial assistance to the KSRTC to distribute pension to the retired employees.
