The attack has taken place at a time when the leaders of India and Pakistan have attended a SAARC Summit in Kathmandu, aimed at boosting trade.
Arnia is about 3 kilometre from the International border.
Earlier reports said that the heavily armed militants had divided into two teams, with one group heading for an Army bunker and the other holed up inside a village house.
The locals alerted the Army about their presence. It is still not clear if the militants had targeted any Army column before taking shelter in the bunker.
