John Travolta was Hrithik Roshan’s hero from age 5

Hrithik Roshan maybe a heartthrob for many but ever wondered who is he starstruck by? “Every kid or teenager has some star they look up to. I was no different. My father (Rakesh Roshan) tells me that the first ever celebrity that he hero-worshipped was John Travolta. And from the time I was five till this date I have been an ardent fan of Travolta.”

Hrithik’s dream to meet John Travolta came true last year at an international award ceremony where he got a chance to shake a leg too with the Grease superstar. “I could hardly believe that I was on stage with the man who inspired me to start acting at the age of five. I would lock myself in my bedroom and act like John in Saurday Night Fever, Pulp Fiction and many of his other cult acts.”

Hrithik admits that he was a nervous wreck when he was asked to introduce Travolta on stage. “Coming from a film family I had never experienced the nervousness of meeting a celebrity. I was totally awestruck by his star aura and his professionalism. And when I got to know that he actually keeps himself updated on Hindi films and actors, it made my day,” says Hrithik, who managed to convince his idol to dance to some Bollywood tunes as well. “Meeting John Travolta will be a memory that’ll be cherished,” says the superstar fan-boy.
