Official pushes for MoU between Telangana and China's Dongfang
K Chandrasekhar Rao has been invited to visit Sichuan with a delegation
Hyderabad: A senior Chinese Government official has pushed for signing of an MoU between his country's power equipment manufacturer Dongfang Electric Corporation and energy-starved Telangana.
Dongfang Electric, headquartered in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province, functions under the direct administration of Chinese Central Government.
In a letter to office of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Deputy Director General of Sichuan Foreign Affairs, Zhang Tao, invited him to visit the province along with a delegation to forge strong relations and promote business and cultural cooperation between the two sides.
Considering the fact that Telangana is in need of large capacity power projects at the earliest, cooperation between related parties on this subject can be discussed and an MoU signed as and when Rao's visit to Sichuan materialises, said Zhang, according to Chief Minister's Office here.
According to Zhang, Telangana is economically driven by agriculture and both Sichuan and the southern state are rich in mineral resources and also industrial centres of their respective countries.
