Hyderabad: When K.S. Harshavardhan Rao fell unconscious in the class, other students started shouting for help. The college management took him to a local hospital.
“The doctors said the internal injury was serious, and he had to be shifted for better treatment. He was taken to Nampally Care Hospital, where he succumbed after 4 pm,” said one of the students.
Sultan Bazaar police has registered a case of murder against Satish under IPC 302. Cops said that Satish, who is a resident of Jiyaguda was absconding. Police have started searching for him.
Sources said that seniors always have an upper hand in the college, and always intimidate juniors. The management, however, said that there were no incidents of ragging in the college in recent times.
Meanwhile mates say he was a good peer
Students at the Pragathi Mahavidyalaya remember K. Harshavardhan, who died in a clash on Saturday, as being helpful. “He never used to quarrel with anyone and used to behave well with others,” said Ankit, a senior student.
Harshavardhan’s fa-ther K.S. Narsing Rao, a merchant, said “It was a spontaneous clash who expected it would end like this”.
Most of the students in the classroom where the clash occurred were girls, and they shouted for help. “Everything was over in a few minutes, I heard the shouting and when I went into the class, Harshavardhan was on the ground and his friends were running for water and help.
He was taken to the hospital, and I did not know it was serious till I heard the news,” said a student.
