Two held for hoax bomb threat

KOZHIKODE: City police on Sunday arrested two persons who created a hoax bomb threat call, threatening that bombs will be detonated in Kozhikode, Trivandrum and Kochi railway stations.

City police arrested M V Abdul Salam (43) and U Umesh (32), both natives of Beypore for passing on the fake message to the police control room on Saturday night.

Kasaba police conducted an investigation in to the origin of the call with the help of cyber crime wing and arrested the accused from their houses around 5.30 am on Sunday.

Police said Abdul Salam used the phone of Umesh to call control room and created the bomb scare.

Police said Adbul Salam was suspicious over Umesh having an affair with his wife and wanted to trap him. Abdul Salam, a painting laborer, was in the Gulf earlier, police said.
