'Flawless performance': Amar Singh's A-plus rating for Modi government
Singh said can find no shortcomings in Modi-led BJP govt’s functioning until now
Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Former Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh on Monday praised the six months of Narendra Modi-led BJP government, saying that he can find no shortcomings in its functioning until now.
"Inflation has been controlled ever since Modi government came to power, prices of petroleum goods have come down and seeing the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, I cannot find any shortcomings (in its functioning) till now," Amar Singh, who was in Sultanpur to attend a wedding function, told reporters.
"70 per cent turnout in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections is evidence that terrorism is also under check in front of the works," Mr Singh said.
Mr Singh, who had recently met BJP leaders, said his meetings with senior leaders of any party is not indicative of his joining that party but of personal relations with other leaders.
"Going to BJP leader L K Advani's house on his birthday is because of my personal relations with him," he said.
Terming the Akhilesh Yadav-led UP government a "failure", he alleged the Samajwadi Party government had failed to check the "corrupt" bureaucrats.
"The corrupt bureaucrats at the helm in previous Mayawati government and who are facing SIT inquiries, are today close to the Akhilesh government," he said.
Amar Singh claimed before the Rajya Sabha elections that he had given details of corruption in Nodia authority to Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for inquiry by any state agency but they got it probed by the Income Tax department for gaining political mileage which proved the lax attitude of state government.
