Anti loan waiver plea dismissed
The HC has refused to entertain the petitions against loan waiver
Hyderabad: A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday closed a PIL challenging the decisions of the Telangana and AP state governments to implement crop loan waiver scheme for the farmers of both the states.
While dealing with the plea by one J. Ram Mohan Chowdhary, the bench termed it as premature. The petitioner urged the HC to declare the waiving of debts of farmers as unconstitutional. It is the second time that the HC has refused to entertain the petitions against loan waiver.
Earlier, the bench cautioned a petitioner to think twice while knocking the HC door against the schemes that are introduced for the welfare of the farmers who are food producers to the society.
This time the bench pointed out that there was no meaning in objection of the petitioner against the scheme when the banks are came forward implement it in the interest of farming community.
The bench observed that the petitioner has not placed required material to establish that the governments have acted as a guarantor to the farmers to raise loans from banks.
