First look of YotaPhone 2 e-paper handset revealed

YotaPhone 2 features two larger displays as compared to the previous YotaPhone

After the successful launch of its first dual- screen smartphone, YotaPhone is all set to manufacture different variants of dual-screen devices. The company has unveiled another dual-display smartphone - Yotaphone 2, which sports two larger displays as compared to the YotaPhone. 

On its front panel, the YotaPhone 2 features a 5-inch (1920x1080 pixels) AMOLED Full HD screen. Whereas, the additional display on its back has 4.7-inch (960x540 pixels) e-paper screen. Coupled with Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection, the pixel density of the front and back panel of YotaPhone 2 is 442ppi and 235ppi respectively.

The YotaPhone 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4, KitKat OS. The dual-screen handset boasts 2GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. YotaPhone has upgraded the front camera of this Dual screen handset to 2.1MP as compared to the 1MP camera on the first YotaPhone handset. The smartphone also sports an 8MP rear camera with flash LED element and weighs around 145g and is fuelled with a 2500mAh battery.

On its connectivity front, its dual-screen supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, MicroUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and A-GPS + GLONASS. Accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor and amibient light sensor are the different sensors on YotaPhone 2.

The dual-screen feature will help users to receive notifications, emails, tweets without switching on the front display. At present, the YotaPhone is only available in the European market. However, media reports state that this handset might arrive in the Indian market soon.
