Ajay Devgn keen to work with Rajamouli
Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha appear on a screen in the city to talk about their upcoming film
This time, there weren’t many cameras and the media wasn’t rushing in for sound bytes. One would wonder if there really was an interview scheduled with Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha after all.
But, since “time was a major constraint” (and perhaps money too), the actors got together for a video chat on Thursday.
For a film directed by Prabhu Deva, it goes without saying that Action Jackson has a lot of dancing.
And Ajay suppresses a shudder when you mention the word dance. “Give me sword-fighting or tough action scenes any day and I’ll finish them with ease. Dancing? Well, that’s the difficult part,” he says.
Sonakshi, meanwhile did not have any problems with the dance sequences. “I didn’t have to do separate action scenes.
My dance moves were enough action and stunts,” she laughs, adding, “I might not be doing stunts and beating up bad guys, but Prabhu Sir has made me dance so much that I think there is no need of action scenes,” she says.
There had been rumours that the movie was a remake of the Telugu film Dookudu, but Ajay clears the air.
“No, the story line is very different. This is a comedy film with a lot of action scenes. I see no similarities. Even the romance between me and Sonakshi is hilarious,” he clarifies.
With a lot of directors from T-town moving to Bollywood, Ajay does have a director from Tollywood that he wants to work with S.S. Rajamouli.
“I’ve been associated with Rajamouli for Makkhi before and I’ve seen his work. It’s wonderful. His story, direction everything is so intelligent. He’s brilliant and yes, I would love to work with him on a film.”
Sonakshi meanwhile is already working with a director from down South A.R. Murugadoss and she will also be seen in Rajinikanth’s Lingaa.
She says, “I felt like a queen on the sets of Lingaa. I don’t understand the language, but it was so much fun. I couldn’t have asked for a better debut down south.”
With their movie releasing on Friday, does Ajay see Action Jackson getting into the Rs 100-crore club? “There is no such thing as a Rs 100-crore club.
A movie is a hit when a producer makes more money than he invests in it, that is all that matters and I hope our film is received well.”
