Chinese company claims Apple copied its design for the iPhone 6
A legal letter has been issued by Digione against Apple
The Lenovo S90 isn’t the only iPhone 6 look-alike, but in fact another similar looking handset by Digione, the 100+V6 has been spotted on the Chinese website.
However, Digione, the Chinese smartphone brand, claims that Apple has copied the design of Digione 100+V6 handset and launched the iPhone 6 way ahead in September. On getting to know the copyright issues of its product, the Chinese company issued a legal letter to Apple in September, which stated that the design of iPhone 6 may infringe against the Baili company.
If you observe the DigiOne 100+V6 closely, you will notice that the sides of iPhone 6 is exactly similar to 100+V6. The DigiOne100+V6 features a 5.5-inch( 1920x1080 pixels) display, which is built by low temperature poly silicon technology. The handset is powered by 2GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and is fuelled with a 3,200mAH battery.
The Digione 100+V6 supports dual silicon wheat noise, light sensor, proximity sensor, gravity sensor, electronic compass and Bluetooth 3.0. This handset is available in two variants, 16GB and 32GB.
According to China’s State Intellectual Property Office, Digione’s subsidiary applied for the patent in January and the company was granted the patent in July.
(Legal letter issued by Digione against Apple published on Weibo)
This legal letter has been published on Weibo, which is said to be one of the social media platforms in China. This letter reveals that Apple might soon face legal risks due to the copyright issues of the allegedly claimed Intellectual Property of DigiOne.
However, media reports state that Apple hasn’t replied back on this legal issue. If Apple continues to remain mute, the Chinese company may take a 'potential' legal action against Apple.
