Hyderabad: The car in which an attempt was made to kidnap the woman was not a taxi. Police said it was a private vehicle.

“The woman told us that the driver had agreed to give her a lift to the airport. They also exchanged phone numbers in order to locate the car when she was coming back after the interview,” said a police official.

The cops do not have the registration number of the vehicle but they have the phone number of the accused, who is on the run. “The victim said it was a red car but she could not give any more descriptions about the vehicle. We are checking CCTV footages at the airport and following up with the phone number,” said an investigation official from the RGI police station.

Following a complaint from the victim, the cops have booked a case for attempt to kidnap.

Officials are also investigating the angle that the victim might have got paranoid and the driver had no intention of kidnapping her.
