Dominic withdraws dry sunday submission

It was allowed and even scheduled in the proceedings in the house

Thiruvananthapuram: Amidst reports that the government may revoke the decision to make Sundays dry day, Congress MLA Dominic Presentation has withdrawn a submission in the assembly in this regard on Thursday.

It is learnt that Mr. Presentation had withdrawn the submission as per a direction of Chief Minister Mr. Oommen Chandy.

Mr. Presentation had given a notice for a submission on the need to revoke the decision to make Sundays dry days. It was allowed and even scheduled in the proceedings in the house.

Even Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan pointed out the matter while flaying the government for its present move to relax liquor policy in the Assembly.

However, Mr. Presentation later withdrawn the notice for submission for which Excise Minister K Babu was supposed to give a reply.

It is learnt that Chief Minister advised Mr. Presentation to withdraw the submission notice so as to avoid further discussions in the house on the liquor policy.
