Bengaluru: Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swami of the Ramachandrapura Math, who was summoned by the CID officials to appear for medical tests on Thursday, failed to turn up and reportedly sought some time.
The seer had moved the high court challenging the notice issued by the CID police to appear for medical test in connection with the case in which he allegedly sexually harassed a 48-year-old singer. The HC, on Wednesday, had quashed the petition following which the CID officials issued a fresh notice to the seer to come for medical tests.
“Following the High Court order, we had issued notice to the seer on Wednesday evening asking him to come to Victoria Hospital for medical tests at 8 am on Thursday. But the seer’s advocated had sought some days’ time. However, we had declined to give more time and sent another notice around 8.30 pm that he must undergo the tests on Thursday,” an officer in the CID said.
“The CID team had made all arrangements at the Victoria Hospital to conduct medical tests and even the doctors were ready. But the seer did not turn up till 11 am. Again the seer’s advocate sought for some time and finally we agreed. He will be subjected to tests in 2-3 days,” the officer added.
