XOLO Omega series to be available in India this week

XOLO Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5 launched on December 5, 2014

XOLO's latest Omega series of smartphones, which comes in two variants - Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5, launched  on Twitter on December 5, 2014.

The XOLO Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5 feature a 5-inch and 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display respectively. Powered by an octa-core processor, the XOLO Omega series boasts of an onboard 8GB ROM and 1GB of RAM. On the camera front, the Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5 handsets sport a similar 2MP front-facing camera.

So, what’s the difference between the XOLO Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5?

  • The display size of Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5 only varies by 0.5-inch. i.e. Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5 sport a 5-inch and 5.5-inch respectively.
  • The Omega 5.5 handset sports a much higher mega-pixel camera - 13MP rear shooter, as compared to the 8MP rear camera of Omega 5.0.
  • XOLO Omega 5.0 is fuelled with a 2,100 mAH battery. Whereas, the Omega 5.5 device comes has a 2,600mAh battery.

XOLO Omega 5.0 is priced at Rs 8,999 and the Omega 5.5 will be available for Rs 9,999 in the Indian market. The company made an official announcement stating, ‘Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5 will be available from December 10 and December 20, 2014 respectively.’ 

Additionally, XOLO also promised that all HIVE and Omega users will receive a new Lollipop update soon.
