A still from the film 'Mosakutty'
Cast: Veera, Mahima, Pasupathy, Joe Malluri, Senrayan
Director: Jeevan
Rating: two and a half stars

Mosakutty (debutant Veera) an orphan and uneducated involves himself in highway robbery along with his close aide Sendru (Senrayan). A local bigwig Virumandi (Joe Malluri) misuses Mosakutty right from his young age for his personal gains and takes away the booty and pay the latter only pittance. Meanwhile, a certain unexpected incident leads Kayal (Mahima), the only daughter of Virumandi who is a student of a local college fall for Mosakutty.

However, as expected this didn’t go well with Virumandi who tries to kill Mosakutty through his henchmen. But he survives and when he returns to the village, he could not find Kayal at her place. The rest is whether Mosakutty succeeds in his search for his lover or not.

Veera reminds us Parutthiveeran Karthi, be it his body language or dialogue delivery, as a newcomer he shows lot of promise. He is believable in action sequences as well. Senrayan as his sidekick provides an effective foil. Mahima has got a solid role and the pretty girl has utilized it properly. Pasupathy is seen on screen after a gap and as usual he delivers. Joe Malluri is equally impressive. MS Bhaskar in an extended cameo shines in a comical role. Though it is a usual love story, director Jeevan has attempted a different screenplay and the settings are also new. But, a sense of déjà vu sets in down the lane, which cannot be conflicted. Ramesh Vinayagam’s songs are good and Sukumar has weaved a visual poem on celluloid especially the Kerala episodes.
