Hyderabad: Senior engineers in irrigation department are facing the heat of bifurcation of state. Around 120 engineers have been disowned by both AP and TS governnents.
The AP government has transferred these engineers selected on state-level merit basis in recruitment exams, conducted by the APPSC in undivided state, to Telangana but the TS government has been refusing to give postings to them on the ground that they were born in AP.
The trouble started with AP government transferring 301 engineers to Telangana, where as 133 engineers were to come to AP from Telangana as part of division of employees between both the states.
Of them, about 180 engineers, who were born in AP, were working in Zone-V and Zone-VI in Telangana. These engineering requested the AP government to deploy them in their own state.
However, the AP government has turned down their request. Left with no choice, these engineers reported back to Telangana government. However, the TS government has been refusing to give them postings arguing that they were born in AP.
