TVM: LDF Convenor Vaikom Viswan’s meeting with K R Gowri Amma the other day has set off the process of JSS’s entry into the opposition front and it might finally pave the path for her homecoming after two decades.

Gowri Amma ,95,  claimed that JSS had reached an understanding with LDF on its entry, the Left leaders refused to confirm her claim.

“Her party is not part of LDF at the moment. So they cannot attend the meeting which is strictly restricted to constituents,” Vaikom Viswan told DC.

“JSS is cooperating with us. We will continue to work together. There is no decision yet on taking them in LDF,” said CPM politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

But he agreed that CPM decision to broaden Left Front at the national level by including CPI(ML) Liberation, Communist Party of Bharat, a Bengal based party and CPI(ML) New Democracy which is active in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana, would have its impact in Kerala as well.

“Aravindakshan led CMP, Babu Divakaran’s RSP and Forward Bloc are willing to work with us. But decision on their entry into LDF will be taken later,” he said.

Many communist leaders including those of the CPI feel Gowri Amma’s return cannot be postponed indefinitely as she is an inseparable part of the communist folklore and has a special place in communist movement. They believe that she would be an asset to the communist movement.
