Kochi: There has been a palpable change in the entrepreneurship scene in Kerala in recent times and that entrepreneurs are getting their due recognition, Finance Minister K M Mani said here on Saturday.

“Until recently, Kerala, which accounts for 10 per cent of the country's unemployed, lacked an industry culture.

But it has changed in the recent times thanks to the proactive steps the government has taken," he said, delivering the valedictory speech at TiEcon Kerala 2014 here.

Mani said the government is taking steps to make Kerala the next startup destination of India and is sending out a strong message that entrepreneurs from all over the world are welcome to come and set up shop in Kerala.
