Guntur: The land sale and purchase activity in the new capital Tullur and adjacent villages has lost its pace for the past few days as the farmers and land purchasers are waiting for a clear statement from the government about land pooling.

The farmers and the landowners are expecting a revised land pooling policy by the government to appease the dissident farmers.

While the price of one acre land in Tullur touched Rs 1.70 crore in the last week, this has dropped to Rs 1.50 crore this week.

The state government on Saturday released details of 29 villages, which were identified for the new capital establishment. The revenue department, after conducting the latest  survey, has identified 2,00,401 people living in 29 villages of identified for new capital establishment in the Tullur and Mangalagiri mandals.

First, the government had identified 17 villages, which later increased to 19 villages and further to 22 villages and the list finally rose to 29 villages and this listing is creating suspicions about further change of the pooling norms and conditions among the farmers.

Farmer G. Venkata Rao of Tullur said that many farmers, who earlier decided to sell their land, have now changed their decision and are waiting for a clear statement.
