WARANGAL: The identity of the dead body found on the Warangal railway tracks on Thursday has been established.

The body was claimed by members of the dead man’s family. The dead body was earlier mistaken to be that of one Anil Kumar, a resident of Yellam Bazaar in Warangal. After Anil Kumar returned home the body was given back to the railway police by Anil’s parents.

The railway police, who found a damaged mobile phone belonging to the dead person, investigated and found out that the mobile phone belongs to one Venkataramaraju, 58, from Chennai.

After the police examined the call log of the mobile phone’s SIM card, they were able to reach the family of Venkatramaraju in Chennai.

“After we informed the family, the relatives of Venkatramaraju came to Warangal from Chennai on Sunday morning and claimed the body.

Venkatramaraju was a fruit vendor in Warangal. On interrogating his family we came to know that he committed suicide due to family problems,” a police official said.
