The Lukup TV service from Indian on-demand TV service provider, Lukup Media, promises to deliver a large number of TV channels in addition to those available through your set top box.
Using the Lukup player, you will be able to access a suite of on-demand TV - 10,000 pieces of content across channels like Hollywood, Bollywood, lifestyle, sports and more - through a docking device ( wired or wireless) that is connected to your set top box. Typically you would pay Rs 40 to view a movie or Rs 120 per month for all content on a single channel. The service also comes with free 500GB of cloud space where users can store their recorded content from the set top box. Multiple devices can be connected via WiFi dock. You can view on-demand content across multiple devices, including your smartphone. An Android app that can be used to stream content from your cloud on to your mobile device, while on the move.The Lukup Player has been made in India, the work of a 100 strong team.
Installation of the player involves connecting the device to your set TV as well as mains power. The dock needs to be connected using a USB cable. If you wish to operate the Lukup service in isolation, you are all set, but if you want to use it as an add-on to your existing DTH network, you need to connect the set top box output to the dock using either an Ethernet cable or composite cables that are provided with the device.
