Sharmila’s paramarsha yatra takes off from Mahbubnagar

Hyderabad: YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila kicked off her five day paramarsha yatra from Mahbubnagar in Telangana on Monday.

After taking blessing from her mother and YSRC honorary president Y.S. Vijayalakshmi and brother Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, and taking the best wishes from sister in law Bharathi, Ms Sharmila began her yatra.

Addressing a gathering during her yatra, Ms Sharmila said, “I am ready to accept any task entrusted to me by the party.”

Recalling her father’s welfare schemes, Ms Sharmila said YSR is still in the hearts of people and he would remain in their hearts till the Telugu race exists.

“We should protect and save his welfare schemes like Arogyasri, pension scheme and fee reimbursement from being diluted.”

She unveiled the statue of YSR at Ibrahimpatnam in Cyberabad and later called on family members of Rayapu Reddy in Irvin village of Kalvakurthy constituency in Mahbubnagar district and consoled the family. Rayapu Reddy died of a heart attack on hearing about YSR’s death. She also called on family members of S. Anjamma.

Ms Sharmila also visited the family of Tummala Narasimha in Padakal village in Talakondavalli mandal.

According to party sources, Ms Sharmila will tour Mahbubnagar district in five days in the first phase, covering 921 km across 13 Assembly constituencies.
