Washington: Christian Bale has recently expressed that the religious icon Moses could be considered as a "terrorist."

The 40-year-old actor said that if a person was not religious , they could look at it as one man's freedom fighter could be another man's terrorist, CBS News reported.

The necessity for empires to exist was that they must have actually a hierarchy among people, whether that's spoken or unspoken and it's fascinating because it's very human and Moses was a far more human and fallible character than he had imagined before, he further added.

The 'The Dark Knight' star found Moses a complicated man, and didn't want his version of the biblical hero in the movie 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' to be too haughty.

To prepare for his role as Moses in 'Exodus: Gods and Kings,' Bale watched Monty Python's 'The Life of Brian' and Mel Brooks' 'History of the World, Part One.'
