Hyderabad: Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy slammed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for trying to harm the interest of Telangana state by not giving power and water shares.

Paying floral tributes at the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial at Gun Park, Mr Reddy said, “Even today Chandrababu Naidu and some other Andhra leaders are trying to hurt the interests of Telangana state and its people. Mr Naidu and the Telugu Desam are solely responsible for the death of a large number of youth, who committed suicide after the UPA government went back on its statement on Telangana. Mr Naidu took a U-turn on Telangana like a traitor. It delayed the formation of the state. He could have saved many lives.”

Mr Reddy joined several TRS activists in performing Pala abhishekam (cleaning with milk) at the martyrs memorial.
