Uber cab rape: Other city cab companies may face heat

Hyderabad: A statement from the transport commissioner of Hyderabad asked cab owners/drivers not to associate with Uber in any form, as there was no permission granted to the company.

The public was also requested to avoid such web based taxi services in view of security.

As of now, the ban has been imposed only on Uber, but other such service providers may also face the heat, said sources.

All enforcement staff have been directed to check unauthorised practices of such private operators including Uber in the city.
