The global firm that boasts of offering the cheapest taxi hire service, even announced attractive introductory fares for Kochi a base fare of Rs 35 and a minimum fare of Rs 70.

Thiruvananthapuram: Uber, which has been banned all over the country on Tuesday in view of the Delhi-rape incident, had announced its launch in Kochi on Nov 23 through its official blog. It was even planning to expand to TVM and Kozhikode in the near future.

Kochi was the 11th destination of Uber in India and the global firm that boasts of offering the cheapest taxi hire service, even announced attractive introductory fares for Kochi  a base fare of Rs 35 and a minimum fare of Rs 70.

Heralding its launch, Uber said in its blog, “In a multi-faceted city like Kochi where transportation alternatives are few and far between, Uber is truly everyone’s private driver – bringing its hassle-free, safe, reliable, and affordable transportation to every local and tourist in town.”
