Mumbai: Emraan Hashmi, who has been known as the star of the masses, is now re-working the marketing strategy of his films. The actor is not too happy with the lukewarm business of his last few releases Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Ek Thi Daayan, Raja Natwarlal and Ungli.

We hear that he has been briefed by his mentor, uncle Mahesh Bhatt, on how to go about selecting his films and also to ensure that the shooting span of his projects don’t stretch over too long a period.

“Delayed projects have always had an adverse effect on an actor’s track record. The Bhatts are known to start and complete their films on time. The idea is to release the film while the buzz is still on,” says a close source.

Currently working on Mohit Suri’s Humari Adhuri Kahani opposite Vidya Balan, Emraan has been keeping track of the progress and development of the film. “Emraan has immense respect for Mahesh Bhatt and values his advice.

The top actors in the industry are always involved with their respective projects right from the scripting stage. Emraan has realised the importance of doing the same. The idea is to ensure that the character one plays on screen lives up to their image and expectations from them,” adds the source.
