Bhopal: While the world was rejoicing over Kailash Satyarthi’s Nobel Peace Prize, politicians in his home state were quite clueless about the 'real' Kailash.

In Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, BJP MLAs congratulated state minister Kailash Vijayvargiya instead. The politicians claimed Vijayvargiya was honoured for his humanitarian work.

According to reports, Opposition MLAs were not far behind as they complained that the Nobel Peace Prize win was a result of the Bharatiya Janata Party being in power at the Centre.

However, Vijayvargiya explained that the confusion was caused by the fact that he is more well known in the state than the Nobel laureate.

Satyarthi shared the prize with Pakistan’s Malala Yousafzai.
