BJP following Nathuram Godse’s ideology, says Tarun Gogoi
‘BJP wears the mask of Mahatma Gandhi for narrow political gains’
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Saturday said that BJP government was following the ideology of Nathuram Godse who was provoked by RSS to kill Mahatma Gandhi.
In a scathing attack, Mr Gogoi told reporters, “Nathuram Godse had no personal enmity or rivalry with Mahatma Gandhi but hate campaign of RSS motivated him to kill the father of the nation.” The BJP was still following the same ideology and to divert focus from their false promises, they have been indulging in communal politics, said Mr Gogoi adding,
“The BJP wears the mask of Mahatma Gandhi to deceive the people for narrow political gains.”
Accusing that BJP had two faces--one before elections of making mountainous promises and second, after the elections of making U-turn on its promises, Mr Gogoi said that Mr Modi created an impression of changing the world soon after winning the elections but nothing was moving even after six months of NDA government. “Assam has turned out to be a loser in NDA regime so far with its plan size being reduced by Rs. 3000 crore,” said Mr Gogoi refusing to admit that plan size of his government was reduced due to failure of his government in submitting the utilisation certificate. “If it was the case, how UPA government was releasing the fund to them,” said the chief minister who also claimed that state would be losing another Rs. 1000 crore if petroleum product is included under GST.
He said that commerce ministry has halted the Northeast Industrial policy, which is going to stop the investments in the region. Even the Above Poverty Line (APL) food grain supply for the tea garden management is going to be discontinued from January, said Mr Gogoi adding that instead of “Achche Din”, bad days of Assam has started with the formation of NDA government in New Delhi.
Mr Gogoi however clarified that centre was withdrawing welfare schemes of the Congress regime in all the states. He pointed out that an approved annual plan of Rs. 1100 crore for MNREGA has been reduced to Rs. 520 crore.
