Google's doodle on Raj Kapoor is reminiscent of his film posters
Mumbai: Bollywood has been credited for giving us a galaxy of stars and films with stellar performances. But rarely we come across a star, who is responsible for giving the Hindi film industry a stature that was unbelievable.
Raj Kapoor, also known as ‘The Show Man’, was one of India’s foremost film personalities. He was an actor, director, producer, and most importantly an entertainer.
On his 90th birthday, Google honoured the master entertainer with an excellent Google Doodle.
The doodle, reminiscent of the posters of Raj Kapoor’s films quite rightly showcases the showman from his character in Shri 420. The famous pose from the song ‘Pyaar hua, iqraar hua’, where Raj Kapoor and Nargis are standing under an umbrella in the rain, lost in each other’s eyes is also shown in the doodle.
Raj Kapoor, has given us many memorable films like Awara, Mera Naam Joker, Sangam.
He took the Kapoor legacy forward, and found his own film production studio RK Films. The man with a hearty smile and twinkle in his eye had wooed generations of Hindi film lovers.
His legacy is unsurpassed and it is only fitting that search engine giant Google, honoured him with a simple, yet creative doodle on his 90th birth anniversary.
