Rajamouli’s treat for Rana Daggubati
The director also spoke about his movie’s massive budget
Director S.S. Rajamouli, who is shooting his most expensive film yet, has given the project’s arch villain, Rana Daggubati, a unique birthday gift.
Rana’s first look in Baahubali was revealed on Twitter on Sunday, December 14, for the actor’s 30th birthday.
Rajamouli, who is currently shooting critical action scenes for the film in Bulgaria, said, “We thought it would be a welcome surprise for Rana’s fans.”
The director also spoke about his movie’s massive budget. “It’s not about the money spent, but how effectively the money is used.
We’re in Bulgaria right now shooting some good stunts the kind that has never been seen here before. We also plan to release the film in summer,” he adds.
Curiously, Rana who plays one of the main characters in Baahubali will also be seen in Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming Hindi film Baby, in January.
Compared to his Telugu project, the actor has a relatively minor role in the Bollywood flick. And considering the epic scale of Baahubali, the producers could be worried.
A source close to Rajamouli claims, “Many like Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu are happy here in the South. Others like Rana and Dhanush keep running off to try their luck in Bollywood.
This causes a market disparity. If Rana has a small role in Baby, his pivotal role in Baahubali suffers.”
