TRS MP K Kavitha faces protest over pension
Ms Kavita assured the protesters that she would take initiative to render justice
NIZAMABAD: A group of elderly persons and widows stopped the convoy of TRS MP K. Kavita at Kaligot village in Jakranpally mandal on Saturday demanding social security pensions.
Ms Kavita was on her way to Chintalur village to lay the foundation stone of a power station.
Having got the information beforehand that the MP’s convoy would pass through the place, the protesters blocked her way complaining that the eligible persons are not in the list of the beneficiaries.
Ms Kavita assured the protesters that she would take initiative to render justice. “There is no need to create a panic on pensions. The government will definitely sanction pensions to the eligible persons” she said. She also took applications from a few elderly persons from the agitating group.
The women of the locality also demanded Ms Kavita to initiate social security pensions for divorced as well as the women separated from their husbands. The cops handled the situation and dispersed the mob. TRS Nizamabad rural MLA was also there.
