Leaked: Expect two new rugged Chromebooks by Acer in 2015
The upcoming Chromebooks will likely be powered by Intel Broadwell or Core i3
If you are looking out for a Chromebook with a large display, then there’s some good news for you! Acer is planning to launch 11.6-inch and 15.6-inch Chrombooks in 2015, as reported by OMG Chrome.
Ubergizmo stated that the 11.6-inch Chromebook device will be known as Acer C740, is speculated to be powered by Intel’s fifth generation Broadwell-U Celeron processor and will be targeting the education sector.
Media reports also state that the Acer C740 Chromebook may arrive in two variants - 16GB to 32GB models. On its connectivity front, this Chromebook will support 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, an HDMI port, and an SD card reader.
As mentioned earlier, Acer is also thinking of rolling out a 15.6-inch Chromebook and will offer HD as well as Full HD display options. The 15.6-incher Acer C910, is expected to be equipped with the Intel Broadwell or Core i3 chipset and will offer around 16GB or 32GB storage capacity.
Acer C740 and Acer C910 'Teacher's Chromebooks' will arrive in the European market in March 2015.
