HTC Service Pack, a free update was released on Google Play Store on December 11, 2014. Unfortunately, this upgrade has backfired for HTC, as this has resulted in technical issues on two of its most-demanded handsets.

Users of HTC One M8 and HTC One M7 are disappointed as the new update disables the voice call and dial tone function on their handsets. Media reports state that the codes used in the HTC Service Pack could be one of the reasons to be blamed for this issue.

A slew of complaints and reviews have been reported on Google Play Store as well as on the XDA developers forum.

A handful of HTC customers also tried to reset the cache for Google Chrome, Google Play Services and Google Play Framework. This proved to be a temporary relief.

However, HTC hasn’t replied back to its customers yet.
