Circular leaves staff anxious
These orders have sought reports and documents required for promotions
Hyderabad: Two orders and a circular issued by the AP government between December 11 and December 13 are making assistant professors in teaching hospitals very anxious.
These orders have sought annual confidential reports, property statements and other documents required for their promotions.
Dr Ramesh Reddy, professor at Niloufer Hospital, said, “This is a very wrong. They are wilfully complicating the issue.
When there are already so many doctors from AP working here who need to be transferred to AP, why not wait and accommodate them first? Why are they in such a hurry?”
He said doctors from Telangana are waiting for the Kamalnathan Committee report and they too should wait.”
No assistant professor has been promoted since two years. Dr Nagender of Osmania General Hospital explained, “The AP government is wilfully creating trouble. Creating extra posts for specialists is very difficult and also imposes a huge burden on the government.
These three circulars will result in filling up of most of the vacant posts. Where will those who are working here from AP go?”
The doctors have written to the TS government. If no action is taken, they are planning to move court.
