Flight operations of SpiceJet were grounded due to non-supply of jet fuel

Mumbai: Flight operations of cash-strapped SpiceJet were grounded on December 17 due to non-supply of jet fuel by oil marketing companies. The oil companies made it clear that the budget carrier will get fuel only on immediate payments, as the airline is on 'cash and carry' mode.

However, the Chief Operation Officer of the airline declared a while back that the SpiceJet flight operations will resume by 4pm today (December 17).
