After PM Modi's appeal, schools observe 2-minute silence for Pakistan victims
Modi spoke to Sharif, ‘offered all assistance’ in the hour of grief
New Delhi: Schools across India observed a two-minute silence and held special prayers to remember the young victims of the appalling terror attack on Peshawar army school in Pakistan on Tuesday.
Sharing Pakistan’s ‘pain’ in the wake of the "dastardly" terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif on phone on Tuesday night offering "deepest condolences and all assistance" in the hour of grief.
As a mark of solidarity with Pakistan, Modi had appealed to all schools in India to observe 2 minutes of silence on Wednesday for the "senseless act of unspeakable brutality" in Peshawar, where terrorists attacked a school and 141 massacred people, almost all of them children, terming the incident as an "assault against the entire humanity".
