Boosters, strap ons power GSLV MK III launch
The liquid stage L-110 is common in PSLV and GSLV
Nellore: “The payload capabilities of the current launch vehicles have been significantly enh-anced with the development of the GSLV MK-III.
“The cryogenic stage of this vehicle is under development and with the success of this experimental flight, we will have greater confidence to put a flight-worthy cryogenic stage in this rocket and have the first developmental flight in just two years,” said Somanathan, mission director of Gslv on Thursday.
According to him, the Lvm-III, equipped with solid boosters S-200, was one of the most powerful rockets. The liquid stage L-110 is common in PSLV and GSLV.
The technological criticality in putting two big boosters and six strap-ons, which are required for controlling the differential thrust between S-200 and L-110 and delay in performance, was achieved bea-utifully in this mission.
