Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao writes song to save lakes

Chandrasekhar Rao has also scripted songs for the upcoming film Kolimi

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao started writing lyrics for a song on Mission Kakatiya to create awareness among people about the importance of lakes and water bodies.

Mr Rao had promised to pen a song on this on September 25 during a meeting with irrigation engineers. With the TRS deciding to restore over 45,000 lakes and water tanks from January 2015, he started writing lyrics for the song which will be part of the government album.

Writing songs is not new for Mr Rao. He had earlier written a song for a hit film "Jai Bolo Telangana" released in 2011 during the midst of intense Telangana movement.

His song, "Garadi chesthundru gadibidi chesthundru- Gundiki dhiguthundru hey mondiki pothundru" was a chartbuster, which was a satire on Seemandhra leaders blockng formation of Telangana State soon after then union home miniter Chidambaram's midnight statement on formation of Telangana.

He has also scripted songs for the upcoming film Kolimi. These songs highlight Telangana culture and language. He has penned songs for upcoming film "Kolimi", highlighting Telangana culture and language.

KCR had also written some few lyrics for the popular "Jaya Jaya He Telangana" writtend by poet Ande Sri.

The "Mission Kakatiya' album is being prepared under the supervision of noted Telangana singer and TRS MLA Rasamayi Balakishna, who is also the chairman of Telangana Sanskritika Sarathi, constituted by TS governement.

"Five-six songs have already been written and composed for the album. We are waiting for CM KCR's song, who told us that it will be done soon. We recently had a meeting with CM and Telangana folk artistes over how to go forward on this album. These songs are aimed to inspire public to take part voluntarily in the restoration of lakes and water bodies. The songs are being penned to inspire even youth and school students," Mr Balakishan said.

He stated that a short video film is also being made to promote Mission Kakatiya.
