Chennai: Asserting that enacting a law banning religious conversion will only end conversions, BJP national chief Amit Shah on Sunday said that legislation in this direction will not derail the process of national development.

A day after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat suggested that a law banning conversions should be supported by Opposition parties if they were against religious conversions, Mr Shah said the government was opposed to forced conversions.
