K Chandrasekhar Rao vows Bhavan for Telangana State hero in Hyderabad
Telangana government will build Doddi Komaraiah Bhavan in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao continued to promise more bhavans in Hyderabad with the latest addition being one for a “Telangana Hero” Doddi Komaraiah, on Sunday.
He is considered to be the first martyr of Telangana armed struggle. Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, who visited Komuravalli in Warangal district on Sunday ann-ounced that the Telangana government will build Doddi Komaraiah Bhavan in Hyderabad in his memory.
He praised the sacrifices made by Doddi Komaraiah for the liberation of Telangana. “He was a great warrior of Telangana who sacrificed his life for the cause of a new state. It’s a mistake that there is no building in Hyderabad named after such a great leader which needs to be rectified now. The Telangana government will build a wonderful building in his memory in Hyderabad,” Mr Chandrasekhar Rao remarked.
The Chief Minister has been announcing Bhavans in Hyderabad for various sections of the society. He laid the foundation for two bhavans simultaneously on December 11 at Banjara Hills. One was “Banjara Bhavan” and the second was “Kumaram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan”.
The two buildings are to be constructed on Road No. 10 at Banjara Hills at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore each. During a recent Cabinet meeting on December 19, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao approved the construction of “Jyotirao Phule BC Bhavan” and allotted five acres of land in Banjara Hills.
Earlier, he announced the construction of Christian Bhavan at a cost of Rs 10 crore. He even released a GO allotting Rs 10 crore immediately and officials are currently searching for a suitable land in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills. Nearly two acres of land are likely to be allotted soon for the purpose.
