New York: Oscar-winner Meryl Streep recommended actor Billy Magnussen for the role of Rapunzel's Prince in upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway musical 'Into the Woods'.

'Into the Woods' is American musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and directed by Rob Marshall, reported Us magazine. "I remember the first day coming into rehearsal. Meryl was like, 'Listen, I want you to know, I got you this part.'" Magnussen, 29, said.

Streep, 65, had seen the Broadway actor in the Tony-winning play 'Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike' back in 2013 and then lobbied for him to land a role in 'Into the Woods'.
