Kottayam: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has ruled out the involvement of Maoists in the violent incidents in Palakkad and Wayanad on Monday.
“The anti-social elements hurled stones in the cover of darkness at the two places. We do not think Maoists are behind them,” Mr Chennithala said.
The government was attempting to face these attacks with the help of the local people. “The public should not panic over these incidents.
The government is determined to face them with the help of the public,” Mr Chennithala said.
Earlier, the minister told reporters at Sabarimala that the government was monitoring the latest incidents.
