Army extends AOC deadline by 6 months; restriction of 10 pm to 7 am will continue

The ministry asked the GHMC to speed up work on alternative routes

The Army authorities had decided to impose a complete ban on civilian traffic from January 1, but the decision was withdrawn later.

Hyderabad: The defence ministry will be instructing Army officials to put off by six months, the January 1 deadline to ban civilian movement on Gough and Wellington Roads. The present restriction of 10 pm to 7 am will continue.

Telangana MPs and representatives of the residents association of Malkajgiri secured the assurance from defence minister Manohar Parrikar in New Delhi. The ministry asked the GHMC to speed up work on alternative routes.
