CM Oommen Chandy’s 13-point plan to save KSRTC

Mr Chandy also inaugurated the new Kanamala bridge on Tuesday evening

Kottayam: The government has prepared a 13-point programme to tackle  the crisis faced by the KSRTC,  said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Tuesday.

Inaugurating  the KSRTC bus terminal, modern garage, shopping complex and office complex, he said,  “The KSRTC is now functioning with loans.

A  new programme  has been charted out in view of the financial crisis faced by the corporation. The government needed the support of the KSRTC employees for its better functioning,” Mr Chandy said.

Transport and Forest Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan presided over the function. District panchayat president Nirmala Jimmy and municipal chairman K.R.G. Varrier were present on the occasion.

Mr Chandy also inaugurated the new Kanamala bridge on Tuesday evening. The bridge with 96 metre length and 11.23-metre width was built with Rs 8 crore.  Earlier,  the Chief Minister also distributed the state media awards at the DC auditorium.
